Aims and Scope

The Journal of Urban Design Discourse is a specialized platform for enhancing theoretical, research, and practical knowledge in the field of urban design. Focusing on issues that define the relationship between design and environmental quality, spatial justice, sustainability, and urban experience, this journal aims to create a dynamic, multi-dimensional discourse about modern urban planning. Our goal is not only to critically evaluate theories but also to provide a space for rethinking, localization, innovation, and interdisciplinary dialogue.

What this journal intends to offer:

  • The opportunity to publish emerging theories and contemporary critiques in urban design
  • A chance to localize global theories in urban contexts of Iran and similar developing countries
  • Linking theory and practice through the publication of case studies, design projects, and effective evaluations
  • Strengthening interdisciplinary scholarly dialogue (architecture, urban planning, geography, environmental sciences, sociology, etc.)
  • Elevating the level of urban design research in Iran and expanding international influence
